Talking to Children about Race and Racism

Our speakers are child psychologists and co-authors of Something Happened in Our Town. This award-winning children’s book introduces children to race and racism. The workshop for parents will cover: 

• Why it's important to discuss race and injustice within families
• How parents can

• Promote empathy and a positive racial identity 
• Use children's books to facilitate helpful conversations
• Put anti-racism into action as a family
