Our school wide summer reading goal is for each student to read at least six books during the summer to help prevent the "summer slide" in reading.  Based on research conducted at George Mason University, reading just 6 books prevents the "summer slide."  Project LIFT is a GREAT way to do that!

Working with CPES Reading Specialist Ms. Carper, students whose parents enroll them in the program or are sponsored by the generous CPES community, have the opportunity to select six new books to receive in the mail during late June. Who doesn't love to receive a package in the mail?! Each participating child will have the chance to select their books online and also participate in a summer reading celebration when school resumes in August.
